Dear all,
We have received a notice from EPFO for the payment of a recovery amount. We paid for the same, and the amount was deducted from our account, but the ECR was cancelled. We generated the challan again and paid for the same.
What steps should be taken to get a refund of the said amount? Do we need to submit any letter to the EPFO? If yes, can anyone help me with its sample?
Thank you.

Dear Anonymous,
Normally, the credit will be processed into your bank account when the ECR has been cancelled. There is no online process for recovery or refund, so it is advisable to write a letter to the EPF office regarding the double payment against ECR generation.
Thank you.
