We are the manufacturer of turpentine-based products. We import raw materials from countries outside India, such as Gum Turpentine. We produce at least 40 products, including Camphor. The question is: Can we be required to pay transit fees to the forest department on the import of raw materials, or only when procured from other states in India? Are we liable to pay transition fees to the forest department on products if the transit fee on raw materials has already been paid to the forest department? Please clarify. Also, if someone can suggest any consultants dealing with forest department issues.
