Dear Friends,
Women in HR: Making a Difference
It is SHE! Everyone can see the writing on the wall of the corporate world. She is quite visible. She has carved a niche of her own. Yes! Women in HR are making a difference. Although the number may dwindle at the highest level of HR, women in the HR profession still hold the employment edge. Females are not limited to one specific role. In the last few years, they have increasingly made their presence felt by showcasing unique traits in all areas, be it sales, marketing, IT, finance, manufacturing, quality, R&D, and more. At each layer in the business organization, they are present.
The Evolution of the HR Function
The HR function has evolved over the past few years. In a highly competitive business environment where technological disruptions are prevalent, the function has shifted from administrative to transactional to transformative to strategic. HR is gaining more strategic and analytical roles where women have successfully emerged because they possess the dual skills of understanding how people deliver and how to embrace technological advancements to make data-driven decisions. This wonderful ability to blend skills has made women in HR leadership roles distinct, thus creating a positive and powerful impact.
Challenges and Opportunities for Women
There is no doubt that women have faced and continue to face various challenges at the social, family, and work fronts. What has significantly changed is that women have accepted these challenges as normal and have learned to handle them intelligently, converting such challenges into opportunities to prove their abilities. They have not sought any discounts on account of peculiar challenges that males may not face.
