Hi, I recently went through an interview with a mining company, and it went well. They took me through their employment process, confirmed my references and experience, but then they couldn't confirm my degree. The truth is I applied for this position 2 years ago, stating that I have 2 diplomas relevant to the position and never scored an interview. This time I faked a degree, and they ended up confirming it with the university before they could validate it. I wrote a letter to the HR manager confirming that I made that up and explained why. I was their strongest candidate in the race and had already gone through a physical medical examination; hence, I confessed before the offer. Is there any consideration they can make, or will they just drop me?

Sad enough to state that the company may not consider your CV at all. Whether you made up the degree or not, the company had discovered the false qualification. An outside chance exists that they may consider your belated declaration of a false degree, but to my mind, it is doubtful.
