My date of birth is 03-03-1950. I became a member of the Family Pension Fund in 1971, in November 1975, and deductions were made from my salary up to November 1995. The deduction was then stopped as it got merged with EPS 1995. I retired in September 2001 under the Voluntary Retirement Scheme. At the time of retirement, I opted for a reduced pension and availed commutation of 1/3 of the pension. The basic wages considered for the pension at the time of my retirement were Rs. 6500/- per month. I am currently receiving a pension of Rs. 546/- per month, and I do not recall the commutation amount received at the time of retirement. I would like our friends to clarify, with detailed calculations, the amount of pension I am eligible for and the amount payable as the commutation amount.

It is clarified that after the EPS'95, your pension contribution would not have been discontinued. Since you have only nearly 6 years' contribution in the EPS'95 and you already commuted 1/3 of the pension, the calculation of the pension has been rendered complex. It is also not known as to which option you had exercised while opting for commutation. The better option would be to visit the RPFC Office that is making the pension payment for the purpose or alternatively submit an RTI application to the local PF office seeking all particulars which you are seeking, and you are to be replied with details within 30 days. With the details, if you come back to this forum, we would be in a better position to clarify/help.
