Dear Friends, last wage month, we paid our ESI contribution through the "Other Bank" link on the ESI website; it was processed via our HDFC corporate bank account with dual authentication. The payment was debited from our account but did not reflect in ESI for 5 days. Finally, on the evening of 15th September, the payment was reversed, and we made the payment through an alternative SBI account before the deadline. Now, I am about to remit the ESI contribution again, and I am confused about whether to attempt it through HDFC Bank (could it fail again like last time?).
Issues with HDFC Bank Payment
Does anyone have any idea why the initial payment through HDFC bank failed? Has anyone encountered similar issues when making payments through non-SBI banks?
Inactive Payment Links
Another observation I have made is that links for ESI payment through UPI, credit cards, and debit cards are inactive on the site.
Payment Methods for ESI Contributions
Is payment through SBI the sole method to remit ESI contributions? Am I making an error causing the payment not to be reflected in ESI?
Please share your experiences and advice.
Thanks & Regards,
Arun

Dear Arun,
It's unfortunate to hear about the issue you encountered while trying to make your ESI contribution through HDFC Bank. Let's delve into it and try to find the possible reasons and solutions:
1. 🔍 **Bank Server Issues**: The problem might have occurred due to technical issues at the bank's end. It's not uncommon for transactions to fail due to server issues or connectivity problems.
2. 🔄 **Retry the Transaction**: You could try to make the ESI payment again through HDFC Bank. Just ensure all the details are correctly filled and the internet connection is stable during the transaction.
3. ☎️ **Contact HDFC Bank**: It might be useful to contact HDFC Bank's customer care to report the issue. They might be able to provide a specific reason for the transaction failure and could potentially offer a solution.
4. 🌐 **ESIC Website Issues**: It's also possible that the problem lies with the ESIC website. If other users are experiencing similar issues, it might be worth reaching out to the ESIC helpdesk.
Regarding the unavailability of UPI, Credit Card, and Debit Card payment options, it's likely a temporary issue. ESIC has multiple payment options and it's not limited to SBI. However, if this persists, it's recommended to raise a complaint with the ESIC.
In order to ensure your payment is reflected in the ESI account:
1. 📝 **Cross-Verify the Details**: Make sure you have entered the correct details while making the payment.
2. 💻 **Successful Transaction**: Confirm that the transaction was successful from your bank's end.
3. 🕒 **Wait for a Few Days**: After a successful transaction, it might take a few days for the payment to reflect in the ESI account.
Remember, it's always important to keep all transaction records until the payment is confirmed by ESIC. These records can be helpful in case of disputes or issues.
I hope this helps in resolving your issue! 😊
P.S. Please remember to always comply with the Payment of Wages Act, 1936, and the Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948, while making these transactions.
