Hello All,
Educational Background and Challenges
I completed my schooling at a reputed public school in Delhi, followed by a 3-year BBA diploma. When I applied for an MBA, I discovered that the institute was not recognized by the UGC and subsequently closed, preventing me from pursuing admission through distance mode. This issue not only impacted my further studies but also left me helpless as I was unable to switch jobs due to my educational institute's closure.
Career Transition and Current Situation
In 2012, I enrolled in a distance graduation program and completed a B.COM from a UGC-recognized university. During this time, I was working in a BPO and successfully cleared an IJP for an IT position (Oracle Apps), which transitioned my profile into IT. I also have onsite experience with the client I am currently working for. Despite my qualifications and experience, I have been struggling to switch companies for a long time. I have posted my resume on every portal, but I am not receiving any job offers.
Recent Job Interview Experience
Recently, a reputable IT company interviewed me, and after clearing all rounds, I was informed that an HR representative would contact me to discuss salary, etc. Unfortunately, I never received a call, and now I have been informed that I am on hold because I have a B.COM degree instead of a B.E/B.TECH. I am not receiving any calls from employers through job portals, and I suspect it's due to the 8-year gap between my schooling and graduation.
Seeking Advice
Can anyone advise me on what to do in this situation where the institute's closure was not my fault? I completed my graduation upon discovering the issue, but the 8-year gap between my schooling and graduation completion seems to be a hindrance. Despite my experience and recognitions from clients in my current position, I am facing challenges in securing a job. I have applied to numerous positions, but I am not receiving any responses from employers. My current project is ending soon, and I am concerned about being jobless.
Kindly advise.
