In the establishment, there may be a few persons who are not contributing to EPF due to age ceiling or wage ceiling. For example, if one person joins at the age of 59, he will not get covered under EPF by the employer. Similarly, if an employee joins with a starting basic salary above 15000 and opts not to contribute to EPF, these employees are on the master roll but considered "excluded employees." As a result, the number of such employees and their salary paid during the month is required by the department.
