Hi seniors,

I am an HR Executive in a software firm in Kochi. I joined in June 2007, soon after my MBA. I am the only HR person here and take care of all HR activities in the organization.

Currently, I am designing a career growth plan for the staff in my office and would like to design a career chart for myself as well. I would appreciate any tips or sample career growth charts you could provide at your earliest convenience.

Regards,
JM

Firstly, you should review your profile. Secondly, assess the current market requirements. Thirdly, evaluate your position in relation to these requirements. If you wish to enhance your skills further, proceed to define your career path. Determine whether working for this company aligns with your career goals. Finally, share your insights after analyzing these aspects.

Dear JM,

Well defined by our friend Rajnish. By the way, the career growth cycle of a Human Resource Professional typically progresses as follows:

1. Trainee/Assistant
2. HR Executive
3. Senior HR Executive
4. Assistant Manager-HR
5. Deputy Manager-HR
6. Manager HR
7. Senior Manager-HR
8. Assistant GM-HR and so on.
