Navigating Initial Accommodation in a Private Company: Employee Settlement and Company Policies - CiteHR

Hi all,

I am a fresher and will join a company soon as a SDE. My company is not providing initial accommodation. So my query is, is it necessary for a company to provide initial accommodation to the employee for 1 or 2 weeks so that they can search for their accommodation, or does it depend on the company's norms and policies? It is a private organization.

Initial Accommodation for New Employees

It is not mandatory for companies to provide initial accommodation. What you can do is talk to some of the employees and ask them to guide you in finding suitable accommodation, which will help you settle down. The employees would have knowledge of the area and can easily help you find a rented place to stay. Once you settle down, you can explore the surroundings yourself.

Every company may not be large enough to afford accommodation, although sometimes many companies have guest houses, etc. It all depends on the company's policy. But don't be disheartened; things will settle down once you are there and have a look around.
