Dear Sir/Madam,
Recently, I have joined a company that deals with Bath Fittings, Tiles, Ready-made Kitchens, and Wooden Floors. They have two large warehouses. Although the company is 21 years old, the work process is not up to the mark. Actually, there is no strong system in place. Please help me with the following:
1) Kindly assist me in creating SOPs for the Warehouse.
2) Help me by providing JDs for the Warehouse Team. Please advise on the appropriate number of team members and their respective levels. I also need to evaluate the Manpower cost.
3) Determine the optimal duration for items to be in stock and identify the point at which items are considered old. When should an alarm be raised in such situations?
I am looking forward to your kind reply so that I can establish some systems here.

Warehousing plays a major role in Supply Chain Management (SCM). Poor warehousing can pull down the efficiency of the supply chain.
To design the SOPs, one first needs to understand the system and process of your warehouse. Secondly, measures must be designed to monitor the efficiency of the warehouse. Based on the warehouse's performance measures, Job Descriptions (JDs), SOPs, individual performance measures, etc., need to be designed.
Merely having access to another warehouse's SOPs is not sufficient. It is essential to hire a consultant to design the SOPs. In fact, I will be conducting a public workshop on Warehouse Management across India in June and July 2016. However, at this stage, a single day of training may not be sufficient for you to develop SOPs.
If you are interested, you may consider hiring my services. Please discuss with your management to determine if they are willing to engage my paid services.
