As a consultant in a Pvt. Ltd. company, the appointment letter states that my work hours are from 10 AM to 6:30 PM with Saturdays and Sundays off and no leave entitlement. I have not been signing in the muster, and I am on a zero-plus arrangement. They deduct 10% tax from my fees. The agreement is for one year and can be terminated with one month's notice from either side. There are no other benefits provided. Is this term acceptable?

I joined as a Consultant in a Pvt. Ltd. company. In the appointment letter, they mentioned that my work hours are from 10 AM to 6:30 PM, with Saturday and Sunday off and no leave entitlement. I am not signing in the muster as I am 0 plus. They deduct 10% of tax from my fees. The agreement is for one year and may be canceled with one month's notice from both sides. There are no other facilities provided. Is the term okay?

It looks like you are being appointed as an employee but in disguise as a consultant in order to avoid providing you with other benefits that an employee generally receives along with their rights. If you are comfortable, go ahead.

Do you want to say 60 plus. Also, the agreement is perfectly legal, if you are ok with it, you can go ahead.

Termination of service during maternity leave would amount to illegal termination.
