In this fast-growing and competitive corporate sector, a lot of "BASIC" points must be practiced and cannot be ignored at any cost. The Bollywood movie "Rocket Singh – Salesman of the Year" enlightens us with such practices that can have a favorable or adverse effect on corporate culture.

Lessons for Senior Management – Most importantly, understand that it takes much effort and time to build a team, a company, a brand. However, it can be brought down to the ground in a fraction of a second if not handled constructively.

1. "Get together" is a must.
- Occasionally or on weekends, a small get-together is preferred to keep employees happy, motivated, energized, and for a personal touch. We find it as the company got a new order.

2. On the other hand, if the employees are not happy, it will lead to frustration, further affecting professional relationships, and it will badly affect the business and operations.
- Nitin, the senior-most employee, was a little bit unhappy for whatever reasons. It was exposed later on.
- Dona, the receptionist, was unhappy because of a monotonous job and not getting timely promotions.
- Giri, the hardware engineer, also wanted to earn some extra. He immediately opted for the offer he was getting. A satisfied employee will not go for other business, which will affect his current job.
- Rocket Singh – because he was mocked, underestimated, and moreover, he has not been valued from the very first day.
- Even Mishra Ji, designation-wise, may not be an asset, BUT role-wise, was one of the key members of the organization. He was not at all honored.

3. False practices are only for the short term.
- Building the foundation on false practices. AYS was conducting business by giving bribes. Very soon, we noticed that other companies started losing interest in doing business with AYS.

4. Deficiency in services.
- The services catered to customers must be of quality, timely, and most importantly, to their satisfaction.

Tips for Business Development: Mr. Rocket Singh, when moving with the plan to establish his own firm called Rocket Sales Corporation, his activities and approaches are noticeable.

- Focus on your aim and do not get distracted from it.
- Proper planning is required to fulfill your aim. He used to meet with his team members for planning.
- Additional hard work results in positive leads. Positive leads turn into sales. How much we do will be less.
- Offer extra and add-on services to customers.
- Be honest in your dealings.
- Value your team and customers.

Tips for Candidates: Newly passed-out college students, i.e., those who need a job and are looking for open doors for entry into the corporate world, should UNDERSTAND:

1. Trump card
- Nitin was an expert in playing with such "Trump cards," i.e., offering cigars to get information, cheerfully handling the receptionist for access to Senior Management, and going through the notice board to smell the present scenario. In other words, such Trump Cards can be treated as an "opportunity." Freshers must utilize such Trump Cards or the given Opportunity. Instead of waiting for an upcoming unknown opportunity, we should get through the opportunity at hand. Every door should be knocked on – Not sure which one will open up. So never miss any opportunity.

2. Identify your potentials, skills, interests, expectations from a job, and satisfaction level, and accordingly pursue your career in that path. Out of the 100 job advertisements, Rocky selected the job as per his skills. His knowledge about sales was zero, and his marks were not enough. But he analyzed and understood what kind of job he could do. Finally, did he fail in his career? No – he scaled new heights.

3. Brand name
- To succeed in a career, either you should get associated with a brand name or go ahead and build a brand name.
