Hi Seniors, kindly provide the Dearness Allowance calculation for Tanneries and Leather Goods Manufactory. In the Minimum Wages book, the Dearness Allowance is not clear. What is the Consumer Price Index and the points for Tanneries?

Please find attached a copy of the TN Govt's Gazette Notification on Minimum Wages for Tanneries and Leather Goods Manufacturing, which is self-explanatory. According to the Government Order (GO), you will need to pay Basic and Dearness Allowance (DA) at a rate of 3 paise per point above 2174 points on the All India Consumer Price Index of the 1960 series per month.
For instance, for November '14, the AICPI is calculated at 1193 points (1982 series) multiplied by 5.05 (the linking factor for the 1960 series), minus 2174 points, then multiplied by 3 paise, resulting in Rs 115.50 per day that must be paid in addition to the Basic wages set in the GO for various categories of workers.
If you require further information or clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us.
