Dear Friends,

An Old but Nice Story About Finding Your Own Balloons

Once a group of 50 people was attending a seminar. Suddenly, the speaker stopped and started giving each one a balloon. Each person was asked to write his/her name on it using a marker pen. Then all the balloons were collected and put in another room.

Now, these delegates were let into that room and asked to find the balloon which had their name written on it within 5 minutes. Everyone was frantically searching for their name, colliding with each other, pushing around others, and there was utter chaos.

At the end of 5 minutes, no one could find their own balloon.

Now, each one was asked to randomly collect a balloon and give it to the person whose name was written on it.

Within minutes, everyone had their own balloon.

The speaker began: "Exactly this is happening in our lives. Everyone is frantically looking for happiness for themselves all around (similar to their own balloon). They, in fact, get it when they give happiness to others (give the balloon to its owner).

Our happiness lies in the happiness of other people. Give them their happiness, and you will get your own happiness.

And this is the purpose of human life. Our soul is Sat-Chit-Anand. It is full of happiness as it comes from the infinite source of happiness - God. Give this happiness to others, and you will be filled with immense satisfaction and a great sense of fulfillment.

I am sure you agree with the rule of this balloon game...

God bless you to get your own balloon..."

This is truly an enlightening post, a nice message with which we can easily relate. One's happiness lies in spreading and giving happiness. Enjoy life to the fullest, spend time with family, friends, and yourself to rediscover who you are. Life is not only about earning good money; life is about spending time with your dear ones and discovering the real you.

A simple but great game very well explained. In the first instance, searching for one's own balloon is tantamount to being selfish and nothing more. Getting one balloon from a lot, assuming the number of balloons equals the searchers, is an exercise of surely getting one. Now, if the balloon bears another person's name, it is the first step of giving it to the rightful owner.

In the first case, the mathematical probability is very low as you have to find just yours from a lot. So the chance of getting happiness is a small fraction. In the second case, as you are sure to find any one balloon, your probability of finding a balloon becomes a certainty. So your happiness also is a certainty!
