Hi all,

I am a student of HR management. I have an assignment on conciliation proceedings as per the Industrial Disputes Act 1947. I have the theory on the subject, but I would be grateful for some help in finding a case study depicting the proceedings as I am unable to find any. Please help!

Dear Ann,

Under the Industrial Dispute Act, the Assistant Commissioner of Labour is treated as a conciliation officer. The ACL acts as a conciliation officer in case there is a dispute between the employer and workmen. Since you already have all the theoretical documents, I will not delve into the details of his duties, responsibilities, and the conciliation proceedings. However, I can suggest that if you want a practical case study, you should contact a labor lawyer in your vicinity. They will have cases where they have participated in the proceedings and can guide you, as well as provide you with the best cases for study.
