“Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami called me twice during last week (asking to demit office). I didn’t reply to him anything...the Governor’s post is a constitutional post.
He is a representative of the President, he is appointed by the President. No responsible person has asked me anything in writing to (be) relieved of the post.

Dear Dr. JM,

It's nothing new happening; it's customary for many in the past to resign voluntarily if avoidable embarrassments have to be faced by the incumbents. We can't find fault with anyone for these events. Legally present government has no constitutional jurisprudence, but prudence should prevail. After all, in India, these are mostly political appointments, many times very crucial for the ruling party in the central government to stabilize their stake in states ruled by the opposition, which is the crux of the problem now also. The present position also proves it. But what is happening now is very much in the open and nasty. Incidentally, HR at the center will have no problem, but still, they cannot afford to remove them summarily by giving one month's notice or salary in lieu thereof, no bond also existing, only chance is the Honorable President could help. Interestingly, was there any phone call from the Home Secretary to the President? Hu..hu..
