Dear HR Fraternity,
I have been appointed as a P/A assistant, and during the interview, I was informed that I would be responsible for IR-related issues. However, the HR head is assigning me the housekeeping job here, which is not feasible for me as it could hinder my career progression. What should I do? Should I resign and look for another job, or should I continue in this role? Please note that the HR head is reluctant to assign me the IR issues, even though I am well-versed in them. Your guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Try to understand the reasons behind your boss assigning you to housekeeping. I can see the positive side of this as it may provide more opportunities for interaction with all employees and a chance to understand people better. Asking and understanding could give you better insight into handling IR issues.
I hope your offered designation is P/A Assistant - IR.

Sekhar
