Greetings to everyone!!
One of our employers has transferred to our branch from another branch. The issue now is that in that branch, his salary was 29000K per month. When I asked my director about his salary, he said 25000K for this month and last month as well since he was transferred to our branch at the end of August. The employee is now asking me why a lesser salary was transferred to him. I checked his last salary payslip, and indeed, he was receiving 29000K. I informed him that I was instructed by our director.
The employee is now questioning how this was done to him and requesting me to speak to the boss to clarify the issue. However, I have already discussed this matter with my boss multiple times, and he instructed me to stick with that salary. Furthermore, he advised me to inform the employee not to worry, focus on work, and if he is not cooperative, suggest that he leaves. Please provide suggestions on how to address this situation, as I have already discussed this matter 3-4 times with my director.

Dear Supriya,
It is essential to know on what grounds they have reduced the pay scale for the person. You can ask the concerned authority regarding the dilemma. It is not about telling the employee to take it or leave it. It's about the right to know where he lacked.
Please verify from his previous branch his increment and last drawn salary, put everything on paper, and ask his supervisor there to acknowledge the letter before sending it to you. Inquire with the person's former supervisor in the previous branch about his performance and their comments regarding him. Make an attribution and take a stand.
If you believe the company is wrong in deducting the salary, you, as an HR professional, will have to take your stand and convey the same to the management in a subtle way. Shed light on the potential consequences they may face in the future for this action.
