I have completed a degree in computer science engineering and then pursued an MBA in HR & Systems. Currently, I am working in a PAN India company as a Management Trainee in HR, specifically in the Recruitment team, with a package of 1.8 LPA.
Career Opportunities in IT and HR
I have learned about openings in the IT industry and MNCs offering attractive packages, ranging from 4-6 LPA, for roles such as Business Analyst HR and Functional Consultant HR. These positions require a combination of IT and HR knowledge, which aligns with my academic background. However, I am finding it difficult to make a decision.
Industry and Career Growth Decision
I am uncertain about which industry to commit to and where my career growth would be most significant. Additionally, I am currently facing some financial constraints, such as an educational loan, which are manageable.

Choosing a career is purely based on individual interest. Suggestions can be given, but we are not sure if that would be wise. However, the only thing I can tell you is that when you enter into Core HR—Recruitment, Training & Development, or other HR areas—the growth is slow and steady. The learning is more, but you cannot quantify it as it is all related to life science. The job opportunities are also similar. It is not like any IT job; you need to think more than twice to shift your job.
Business Analyst Role
When you want to enter a role as a business analyst, you also need to have good technical knowledge. You should be capable of understanding customer requirements and converting them into system-level design. The salary and job opportunities are good, growth is much faster, but you still need to be technically competent.
The choice is yours; you know where you stand.
