I joined XYZ Company in Feb 2013 as an HR. It is a manufacturing company. Earlier, a Technical Head was the MR of the company and was in charge of ISO work. He resigned, and now my manager wants me to take on the ISO work. I have no experience in ISO work, and an MR is someone who is knowledgeable about the system in the organization. I would like to know if it is the right idea to make me the MR. I have no problem becoming the MR, but as mentioned earlier, I have never conducted an ISO audit. Will this lack of experience create problems for me?

ISO is not tough; it's basically about standardization. Please refer to previous manuals, audits, and reports issued by the certificate issuing agency. If you cannot find them in your office, you may request duplicates. By reading those reports or meeting with the concerned person, you may get a basic idea of ISO certification and its principles.
