Seeking Advice on Employee Leave Compensation

Could you please provide a solution for the following issue?

I am from a startup company. One of our employees met with an accident last week and has been advised to take bed rest for one month. My question is, how can I generate salary for those days when the company only allows 10 days of medical leave for every employee? Should I deduct those extra days from his salary (Loss of Pay - LOP), or is there any other form of compensation that I should consider?

Can anyone help me out?

You have not mentioned if the accident occurred while on duty or not. If the accident was while on duty, then you can adjust the leaves as Special Leave and pay the entire salary, as it was an accident in the line of duty.

Secondly, if the accident did not happen while on duty and the injury is severe, then you can adjust his other leaves with the medical leaves, while keeping both the employee and his boss in the loop as a special case.

Hope this will help you.
