I hope you are all doing well. I would like to seek your opinion on starting up a recruitment firm. I have heard people saying that this may not be the right time to start a company. However, I have 7.5 years of experience in recruitment across different verticals. Kindly assist me in making a decision.

Thanks & regards,

If you believe that you can make it work, go for it. A few words before you start: get the buy-in of some of your contacts so they will work with you to support you and help build a good database. My suggestion is to start the recruitment as a freelancer to test the waters and the sincerity of your contacts. Once you have a few recruitment assignments filled, go ahead with the investment. You can use your successes as a freelancer and word-of-mouth recommendations, which go a long way in making your business thrive. Also, set up your website and tie up with firms overseas for better reach. How can you be different from your competitors to gain an advantage over them? You are looking at a good two years to make the business take off. All the best.
