Hey all, just wanted to check whether our HR team has any plans for celebrating Valentine's Day at the office. We are decorating the floor with red and white balloons, asking employees to come in dress codes, and planning to include a few games without affecting the work.

Any suggestions? Please share your ideas, team.

Would the practices shared in this discussion thread help you? Celebrating Valentine's Day at work - policy and process

The policy and process for your firm can be best designed by you, as you know what you can and cannot implement. Keep a positive environment for those who might want to celebrate it and purely spread the cheer to those who may not.

A quick question: Is your company based in the UK or the US? This is of great importance to understand as the work environment plays a crucial role in ensuring productivity and fostering a cheerful and fun atmosphere, especially during festive times. When we consider Valentine's Day, there is no certainty except to enhance the purpose of celebrating it.

If you plan to celebrate this day, you should consider terms that do not alter employees' behavior at work. In my opinion, up to the dress code is acceptable, and games that do not cause confusion should be strictly adhered to.

Couldn't wish Valentine's Day as it was a busy day with the team. Thanks for the feedback and suggestions given by everyone. Ours is a 150-employee international outbound BPO. We dial for the UK, US, and Australia. We celebrate all the festivals in the office, whether it's Valentine's Day, Halloween, or any Indian festivals. This gives our employees relief or relaxation from their routine stressful work schedule and targets.

We decorated our floor with red and white balloons. Employees, including our management team, came in one of the given color dress codes: pink, white, blue, yellow, red, orange, green. I was surprised to see our director come in the dress code. The game we played was a treasure hunt. It was really nice to see the team running to find the treasure.

Altogether, we enjoyed a lot.

Thanks & regards,
Riya
