Rules for Regular and Habitual Latecomers and/or Early Goers
Over a period of time, management has observed that employees in large numbers are misusing the leniency of the management towards employees and have developed a habit of either coming late, leaving early, or taking breaks during duty hours. This results in delays in the completion of work and missing targeted deadlines for completing assigned tasks, leading to an increase in indiscipline among the staff members.
Therefore, the company has installed a Biometric Face Attendance Recorder. This machine will read the face of the employee standing in front of it, compare it with the already stored face in the machine, and record their attendance with the time of arrival and departure from the premises.
Every employee is required to work a minimum of 54 hours per week, including a lunch break, with regular and punctual arrival and departure from the office.
Attendance Rules
In order to restore the original work culture of SMPL, the following attendance rules have been established:
1. The attendance recorded in the Biometric Face Attendance Recorder shall be the basis for calculating the salary and wages earned by a particular employee for a specific month. Therefore, each employee must use the Biometric Face Attendance Recorder to record their time of arrival and departure from the office without any choice of their own.
2. In case the Biometric Face Attendance Recorder is out of order or out of service for any reason, the manual signing procedure along with the time of arrival and departure must be used.
3. If an employee fails to use the Biometric Face Attendance Recorder on any particular date for both arrival and departure times, they shall be deemed as completely absent.
4. If an employee uses the Biometric Face Attendance Recorder for only one time on a particular date (either arrival or departure), it shall be presumed that they came to the office but left without working, and they will be marked as absent.
5. If an employee arrives late or leaves early by up to 15 minutes on three occasions per calendar month, they will be marked as taking half a day of leave.
6. If an employee arrives late or leaves early by more than 15 minutes but up to 30 minutes on three occasions per calendar month, they will be marked as taking a full day of leave.
7. If an employee arrives late or leaves early by more than 30 minutes on any occasion, they will be marked as taking half a day of leave for that day.
8. If an employee fails to complete the total required 54 hours of work in a week due to late arrival, early departure, or leaving in between, they will be marked as taking half a day of leave for every 2 hours of work missed.
9. If three half days of leave are marked in any month due to late arrival or early departure, the employee will be put under watch and monitored.
10. Regular and punctual attendance will impact results, annual increments, and the quantum of bonus payable to any employee.
11. The management reserves the right to make modifications, alterations, or substitutions to any of the above provisions.
12. This arrangement comes into force with immediate effect.
13. Every employee must sign this circular as confirmation of having read and fully understood its contents.
