Hello everyone! This is Abdul Irfan. I have completed an MBA in Finance and Marketing (fresher) and am currently working in a chemical manufacturing industry in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, specializing in construction additives and water treatment chemicals as a sales coordinator.
They have requested me to undergo a 1-month training program with a senior sales manager, following which I will be assigned targets. My role will involve interacting with customers in the field to secure orders for the company. It is worth noting that similar responsibilities are held by individuals who have been in the company for 3-4 years, with titles such as sales consultant and senior sales consultant. These employees, typically BCOM graduates or individuals with lower qualifications, primarily engage in Arabic communication and have limited English proficiency. I am finding it challenging to differentiate my role and am unsure if it aligns with the level of my master's degree.
Regarding compensation, the company is offering a basic salary of 2500 SR, which, when combined with allowances for housing, transportation, and a mobile phone, amounts to 4500 SR. Ultimately, this is the net amount I will receive.
I seek clarity on my designation and whether the job and salary package are suitable for me. If not, I would appreciate guidance on what an appropriate salary range should be.
I hope, InshaAllah, that you can resolve my uncertainties. I am grateful for your assistance.

Hi Irfan,
First and foremost, to do any sales business in KSA, knowing Arabic is an added advantage. Arabic is a plus and is given weightage while recruiting a sales team.
Second, it does not matter whether you are a BCom, MBA, or PhD holder in marketing. At the end of the day, how much business you get will count, and you will be rewarded accordingly. I personally know a Sales Manager who is only an 8th pass (Arabic Indian), has been in Saudi for the last 33 years, and brings in 1 million SR orders per month for the company.
Third, besides all the above, you must have the maturity and knack of dealing with your boss, colleagues, and a very close reliable relationship with your clients. When you excel in all the above, nobody can stop you from earning high for your efforts.
I suggest, though the salary seems a bit on the lower end, based on being a fresher, it's fair. You need at least 2-3 years of solid ground experience in Saudi to command a basic of 6000 and above. However, if you can bring good business to your company, the sky is the limit. I know expatriates and Saudis with just 5-6 years in business take home almost 25000 SR per month.
Wish you all the best.
Use your education and skills to be a leader by contributing ideas and innovation in your marketing strategies and planning and see the results.
