Hello NIKKI,

If I understand your message correctly what you are looking for is Information Security System.

By Strategizing I understand that you are trying to make a policy.

Company information as you observed is of varied nature.

1.0 Plant Operating manuals / Maintenance manuals / drawings, SOPs - as decided by Management

to be given to Executives, Staff and very selective information to Contractor workmen. Not to be

disclosed to others except Customers and Quality System Auditors and that too with the

consent of the management.

A written approved procedure has to be in place.

2.0 Company Information - Most companies have websites. Here the information contained is

generally for unrestricted use. It tells about company products ,capacities, services, key personnel etc

3.0 Plant details - Same as in 1.0

4.0 Technical details - same as in 1.0

5.0 Product details - at the discretion of Management. generally given to all customers

So first the information has to be sorted out.

Then it has to be decided who will have access to what.

It is very essential to have the view of Senior Management before implementing any policy.

First i need to understand that what would be the guideline for a Manufacturing Industries so that i may discuss with my Seniors for their valuable input & implementation...

I would like to suggest that you visit sites like those dedicated to AEO, CT-PAT and TAPA where you will get more than a comprehensive idea of what Manufacturer's security entails. I am qualified in Supply Chain Security and I can say that it is a vast subject which would require more that a couple of hours to grasp the idea.
