Dear Friends,

Can anyone help me out with how to monitor the secondary sales at the dealer, stockist, and retailer levels? It would be very helpful if I could get some Excel format templates for tracking closing stock, liquidation of stocks, and opening stocks.

Hi Rajesh,

Thanks to Leo for the answer. I just would like to make one change - add a row for rejections from the customers/damaged goods which are taken back by the company. The rest of the format remains the same.

Cheers, Rajat

Hi Rajat,

These are sales through dealers/resellers, and the sales transactions are between the reseller and customer. When the goods are damaged, they are replaced with new ones. When customers return goods but they are still in new condition, they remain in the dealer's stock. Therefore, the net sales transactions remain the same. Hence, these transactions are not shown in the statement.

If the company were involved in direct sales to customers, then this logic of goods being returned would be applicable.

Does anyone have any solution to track secondary sales? We receive secondary stock statements from our field staff on a monthly basis. We are in search of an automated system to get these statements entered into the system and provide us with ready reports or at least raw data that we can use to generate various reports. Currently, we have SAP and a web system linked to SAP, from where we obtain primary sales data. We need to integrate secondary sales data into this system as well. If anyone has knowledge about this, please email me at nishant501212@gmail.com.
