As a young HR professional who has just started my HR career, I am seeking advice on how to develop myself in this career path, despite having a science background. What are the things I need to know to excel and become one of the best in the practice? Thank you.

Welcome to H.R. World.

As you are from a different background, hopefully, you must have completed a specific degree in H.R. You should have dedication and a deep interest in H.R. policies. Be updated on norms, legal points, and discussions of H.R. You must be working somewhere in H.R. or be willing to get an H.R. job. Have an interest in knowing people, their problems, and companies' rules and regulations.

Deep Knowledge of H.R. Policies

You should have a deep understanding of H.R. policies, the Factories Act, compensations, Gratuity, P.F., Labour Laws, safety and security provisions for industries, factories, and companies. Familiarize yourself with legal forms, liabilities of the H.R. department, recruitment processes, selection, screening, appointments, leaves, wages act, and thousands of related mandatory topics. Engage in deep reading of H.R. journals and materials. This will keep you updated in the trade.

Best Wishes.
