Navigating Wage and Muster Register Exemptions: What's the Process for Large Factories? - CiteHR

Dear Sir, I am working in a 1000-manpower factory in AP. In this, there are 200 regular employees, and the remaining are contract employees. We use biometrics for time recording and salary credits to the bank. We need to seek an exemption to maintain the wage register and muster register. What is the procedure in this regard?

You have to follow both procedures because a machine is an electronic item, so it can crash at any time, resulting in the loss of machine data. During such times, the register and muster register will help you. The muster register must be maintained as per the PF & Contract Act. It is a hard copy for future proof, so you should maintain it.

You may seek exemption from the appropriate authority to maintain certain registers and records in electronic mode under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948. Regards Apurva

Dear team, can we maintain a register for both the Factories Act 1948/Karnataka Factories Rule 1969 and the Minimum Wages Act 1948 in one register, mentioning the rules because the details are the same for the muster roll or wage register, etc.? Request your suggestions.
