The statement that the employer had paid additional monies to resolve the action indicates that he had not corrected himself even after facing situations which had made him pay for his actions.

First recommendation will be to advise the employer to comply with the provisions of the employment laws. The second recommendation will be to undertake a review of all the pending employment-related lawsuits and, if possible, settle the issues out of court wherever it is found that the employer had taken wrong decisions or acted contrary to law and there is no chance of success. This would minimize the additional monies to be paid and will also save legal fees.
The third recommendation will be to thoroughly scrutinize all actions relating to employment to ensure that there is strict compliance with the laws of the land.
