Please help me to clarify doubts. Presently, there are many theories applied to motivate employees.

Reward for Work

- Does it decrease teamwork and invite competition between employees?
- Do these types of incentives not become entitlements?

Implementation of Labor Laws

- Do employees feel that it is management's concern for them when they implement labor laws that are beneficial for employees?
- Does it act as a motivation factor for them?

Implementation of Labor Laws

All labor laws are enforced to be implemented. When they are implemented, the workers should feel that they are being taken care of. On the other hand, if laws are not implemented, they will develop a sense of insecurity, which will reflect in productivity. Therefore, the provision of statutory coverage will certainly motivate employees.

Another important aspect is that if you have complied with all laws, the employer will also feel free since he does not need to hide anything from government law enforcement authorities.

Thank you for the reply. Presently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in HR, and my topic is the "study of relevance and implementation of selected labor laws in India" (laws which affect employees' morale through their implementation). In this regard, please share your views on the following:

1. Which laws/clauses of labor laws would be beneficial for this purpose?
2. Which laws/clauses are outdated (not of much relevance to employees or employers) and need alteration?
3. What are the problems faced by management while implementing these provisions?
