Valmiki had the courage to explain Ramayana through a lot of miseries. These are some examples from Ramayana:

- If Dasaratha had waited for 2 days instead of granting the two boons to Kaikeyi on the battlefield, Kaikeyi was intelligent to say that she wouldn't ask for the boon then, but would ask when the time was right.

- If Rama had waited for 2 days instead of immediately accepting Kaikeyi's request to go to the forest, Bharatha would have returned within those two days and things could have been sorted out.

- If Laxman had not cut off the nose of Surpanaka but instead explained to her that he had a wife waiting in Ayodhya.

- If Sita had waited a few more minutes for her Ram to arrive before crossing the line, Ram would have arrived. Sita was emotionally deceived by the words of Ravana.

Ramayana would not have been born. Valmiki beautifully explains here, "If we are not aligned with the laws of life, we are sure to suffer from miseries."

Don't be a consequence receiver; be a choice maker. Don't make any decisions when you are emotional. Wait for some time. Let the emotions settle down. Emotions will settle down. When we are emotional, there is no intelligence. When we are peaceful within us, intelligence emerges, and we can make clear decisions.

Despite all the miseries in Ramayana, there was one person who said, "All the miseries that happened to my Lord Ram had to happen because you and I had to meet. My devotion towards you has brought you to me." This was said by none other than the Monkey God, Hanuman.

When we are emotional, stand for a few seconds as Swami Vivekananda stands with hands folded up. You will see the Swami Vivekananda within you.

What does a fire say to us? Always look up at yourself. Don't look down. Burn, burn, keep burning inside to grow up and move up in life.
