There was once this guy who was very much in love with his girl. This romantic guy folded 1,000 pieces of paper cranes as a gift to his girl.

Although, at that time he was just a small fry in his company, his future didn't seem too bright, they were very happy together. Until one day, his girl told him she was going to Paris and will never come back. She also told him that she cannot visualize any future for the both of them, so they went their own ways there and then...

Heartbroken, the guy agreed. But when he regained his confidence, he worked hard day and night, slogging his body and mind just to make something out of himself.

Finally with all the hard work and the help of friends, this guy had set up his own company...

You never fail until you stop trying. One rainy day, while this guy was driving, he saw an elderly couple sharing an umbrella in the rain walking to some destination. Even with the umbrella, they were still drenched. It didn't take him long to realize they were his girl's parents.

With a heart in getting back at them, he drove slowly beside the couple, wanting them to spot him in his luxury sedan. He wanted them to know that he wasn't the same anymore; he had his own company, car, condo, etc. He made it! What he saw next confused him, the couple was walking towards a cemetery, and so he got out of his car and followed...and he saw his girl, a photograph of her smiling sweetly as ever at him from her tombstone and he saw his paper cranes right beside her...

Her parents saw him. He asked them why this had happened. They explained, she did not leave for France at all. She was ill with cancer. She had believed that he will make it someday, but she did not want to be his obstacle... therefore she had chosen to leave him.

Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have. She had wanted her parents to put his paper cranes beside her because, if the day comes when fate brings him to her again...he can take some of those back with him...

Once you have loved, you will always love. For what's in your mind may escape but what's in your heart will remain forever.

The guy just wept...The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside her knowing you can't have her, see her or be with her ever again... hope you understand.

Find time to realize that there is one person who means so much to you, for you might wake up one morning losing that person who you thought meant nothing to you.

KINDNESS Pays!

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry.

He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal, he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry, so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly and then asked, "How much do I owe you?"

"You don't owe me anything," she replied. "Mother has taught us never to accept payment for a kindness." He said... "Then I thank you from my heart."

As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.

Years later that young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes.

Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day, he gave special attention to the case.

After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room.

She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally, she looked, and something caught her attention on the side as she read these words...

"Paid in full with one glass of milk." (Signed) Dr. Howard Kelly.

Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed: "Thank You, GOD, that Your love has spread abroad through human hearts and hands."

Cheers

Hi Anu,

The stories were really very sentimental for the person with broken hearts. Even my life resembles quite enough with the first part of the story, getting stuck in between and the other person didn't care to look back once she was gone.

Anyways, keep up the good work.

What a post, Anu... I am in tears. My heart is so sad for that guy. Can we change the ending somehow? I mean, if he is able to meet that girl, but the girl is handicapped or something, but she's alive. I mean??? Please...

Dear Dipz,

SCAre_CrOw is scary from the outside but full of emotions from the inside. Why do love stories end in tragedies? Can't we have something wherein they lived happily ever after? There should be some feel-good factor in love stories. What say, Dipz?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all your comments.

Dear Scare_Crow,

In life, we need something like this. Only then will we feel the importance of people being with us. Treat this as just a story. Let us pray that this kind of thing should not happen in any of our lives.

I can edit and change the ending of the story, but the truth remains the same. So, let us accept things as they are and try to love all in your life. Do not feel for the one you already missed but love the one who is with you now and will be with you in the future.

Cheers,
Anu

What Anu said is right, life's not always a cakewalk. Yes, one likes stories with happy endings, but too many such happy stories lead you to believe that everything always ends happily. But that is not the case, so let the story be; it needs to be this way.

We should not dream too much; the world does not like it. See what the world shows you and do what life tells you; you will be happy. Don't wish for too much.

Hi all,

Long story, but isn't it worth reading and reflecting upon?

Quote:

A ninety-one-year-old woman died after living a long dignified life. When she met GOD, she asked Him something that had long bothered her.

If Man was created in God's image, and if all men are created equal, why do people treat each other so badly?

GOD replied that each person who enters our life has a unique lesson to teach us. And it is only through these lessons that we learn about life, people, relationships, and GOD. This confused the woman, so God began to explain.

When someone lies to you, it teaches you that things are not always as they seem. The truth is often far beneath the surface. Look beyond the masks people wear if you want to know their heart. And remove your own masks to let people know yours.

When someone steals from you, it teaches you that nothing is forever. Always appreciate what you have, for you never know when you might lose it. And never, ever take your friends and family for granted because today is the only guarantee you have.

When someone inflicts an injury upon you, it teaches you that the human state is a fragile one. Protect and take care of your body as best you can; it's the only thing you are sure to have forever.

When someone mocks you, it teaches you that no two people are alike. When you encounter people who are different from you, don't judge them by how they look or act; instead, base your opinion on the contents of their heart.

When someone breaks your heart, it teaches you that loving someone does not always mean that person will love you back. But don't turn your back on love because when you find the right person, the joy that one person brings will make up for all the past hurts put together... times ten!

When someone holds a grudge against you, it teaches you that everyone makes mistakes. When you are wronged, the most virtuous thing you can do is forgive the offender without pretense. Forgiving those who have hurt us is the most difficult and courageous thing Man can do.

When a loved one is unfaithful to you, it teaches you that resisting temptation is Man's greatest challenge. Be vigilant in your resistance against all temptation. By doing so, you will be rewarded with an enduring sense of satisfaction far greater than the temporary pleasure by which you were tempted.

When someone cheats you, it teaches you that greed is the root of all evil. Aspire to make your dreams come true, no matter how lofty they may be. Do not feel guilty about your success, but never let an obsession with achieving your goals lead you to engage in malevolent activities.

When someone ridicules you, it teaches you that nobody is perfect. Accept people for their merits and be tolerant of their flaws. Do not ever reject someone for imperfections over which they have no control.

Upon hearing the Lord's wisdom, the old woman became concerned that there were no lessons to be learned from Man's good deeds.

GOD replied that Man's capacity to love is the greatest gift he has. At the root of all kindness is love, and each act of love also teaches us a lesson.

The woman's curiosity deepening, GOD once again began to explain.

When someone loves us, it teaches us that love, kindness, charity, honesty, humility, forgiveness, and acceptance can counteract all the evil in the world.

For every good deed, there is one less evil deed. Man alone has the power to control the balance between good and evil, but because the lessons of love are not taught often enough, the power is too often abused.

When you enter someone's life, whether by plan, chance, or coincidence, consider what your lesson will be.

Will you teach love or a harsh lesson of reality?

When you die, will your life have resulted in more loving or hurting? More comfort or pain? More joy or sadness?

Each one of us has power over the balance of love in the world. Use it wisely.

Don't miss an opportunity to nudge the world's scale in the right direction.

Anu,

Thanks for your two beautiful stories. Please read this one too.

Angel Knocking at the Door

There came a frantic knock

At the doctor's office door,

A knock, more urgent than

he had ever heard before.

"Come in, come in,"

the impatient doctor said,

"Come in, come in,

before you wake the dead."

In walked a frightened little girl,

a child no more than nine,

It was plain for all to see,

she had troubles on her mind.

"Oh doctor, I beg you,

please come with me,

My mother is surely dying,

she's as sick as she can be."

"I don't make house calls,

bring your mother here,"

"But she's too sick,

so you must come or she will die I fear."

The doctor, touched by her devotion,

decided he would go,

She said he would be blessed,

more than he could know.

She led him to her house

where her mother lay in bed,

Her mother was so very sick

she couldn't raise her head.

But her eyes cried out for help

and help her the doctor did,

She would have died that very night

had it not been for her kid.

The doctor got her fever down

and she lived through the night,

And morning brought the doctor signs,

that she would be all right.

The doctor said he had to leave

but would return again by two,

And later he came back to check,

just like he said he'd do.

The mother praised the doctor

for all the things he'd done,

He told her she would have died,

were it not for her little one.

"How proud you must be

of your wonderful little girl,

It was her pleading that made me come,

she is really quite a pearl!

"But doctor, my daughter died

over three years ago,

Is the picture on the wall

of the little girl you know?"

The doctor's legs went limp

for the picture on the wall,

Was the same little girl

for whom he'd made this call.

The doctor stood motionless,

for quite a little while,

And then his solemn face,

was broken by his smile.

He was thinking of that frantic knock

heard at his office door,

And of the beautiful little angel

that had walked across his floor.

Hi Anu,

Two really wonderful stories... but as the scarecrow said, these sad-ending stories are really causing so much pain to our hearts. Well, but again, we need to accept things. That's right.

Keep posting such good stories.

There is a lot of goodness in most people. Only, we are increasingly putting it lower in our prioritisation of values of life, that it is finding it difficult to manifest as often as it should.
