Respected Seniors,
I just wanted to know if you could guide me regarding my query, i.e. Nowadays, so many HR Generalist short-term distance courses/training programs are being offered, which claim to provide hands-on experience regarding the HR generalist profile and also promise to get you placed as an HR Generalist in good companies.
I also got such an offer, but before joining, I am just wondering whether they are really of any use or not. All you respected seniors have practical experience in the industry, so could you please guide me regarding this so that it doesn't turn out to be a waste of time and money.

Hello Binita , These courses give rough idea about a generalist role. But there is NO short cut .One has to take practical experience . Practical experience has NO alternative . Regards Rajeev Dixit

Dear Mr. Rajeev,
Thank you so much for your prompt response. Actually, the thing is that I am working as an HR recruiter, and I don't have any practical experience in a generalist profile. But I want to enter into the generalist profile since nobody is going to give me a generalist profile as I do not have any practical experience in that. That's why I considered doing this course. Do you think it is going to help me for my purpose?
Respected members, please respond to this thread. I really need guidance, please help me.

Dear Binita,
That's what these courses will help you with in getting a rough idea. However, to become a generalist, you should be aware of all aspects of HR, right from recruitment to full and final settlement. I suggest you start by joining a small-scale manufacturing unit to gain overall experience and then progress from there.
