Hi Friends,

I have observed many times that when somebody has any information to share, they do not post the document/attachment along with the post. Instead, they prefer to take the email addresses of every individual who is interested in that post and email them separately. I don't know whether they send the attachments to those email addresses or not, but I want to know why this system is followed by many people in citehr. Does anybody have an idea?

Hi Roopa,

I have noticed the same too. Initially, I was thinking people find it difficult to attach documents that take up huge space. Lately, I have observed people doing this even for files that will take less storage space. Maybe people who follow that would be able to give a valid reason for it. Let's see. :)

Ok, anyways, thanks. But still, I didn't like the system of taking email IDs and then mailing person to person.

So, dear friends, if you have any information to share, please ensure that everybody gets a chance to know what you want to share.

I agree with what Roopa has pointed out. I also observed this practice where people provide their email IDs to receive any files or attachments. When a website has a facility for the sender to attach any file, I don't think this practice should be encouraged. Please take note that publicizing your email ID is an open invitation to spam.

I agree with all of you. This kind of posting, posting a topic's name, and then send me your email. I can't attach because the attachment is large. I will send it to your personal id. Likewise, saying all really seems foolish. Then why the hell are they here in this forum, I don't know. Their attitude, like saying this needs to be changed. If they have any articles and they are really interested to share, they should share with everyone. Why for a particular person who asks for it? This habit is really to be condemned. Hi,

I agree with everything all of you are saying. In addition, I would also like to point out that many times, it is not intentional. I have noticed that many attachments do not open when downloaded. Because of this, people often request to have the documents forwarded to their personal email IDs. To prevent this, we need to verify on our end whether the documents we attach to emails are properly uploaded and if they open after being downloaded.

Even I get the information.

Only Mr. Rahul requests using this technique because he always attaches big files.

Apart from this, I have received a file on communication & excel usage.

Hi,

I have sent the request several times to post the document to my personal email address, but I have not received any replies. Additionally, my new topic has not been posted yet. I am under the impression that the post display is intended for a specific group of people only. If possible, please address my concerns as well.

Hi All,

I think the people are using this technique to get their posts in a top position, more views, and more replies. Everyone should post their attachments in this forum itself so that everyone will benefit. Of course, if the attachment is big, it is better to split the file into two (if possible) or follow the same procedure of asking for IDs and sending it to them.

This is my opinion.

Dear Raghav,

Thank you for the dictionary.

I agree with Mr. Sardhar - Rahul usually attaches big files when he sends the attachments directly to the email IDs. I have also received some of the files in this manner. However, there are certain instances when, even after sending the request, the file never shows up.

Thank you.
