Hi,
Persistence and Determination
"The heights by great men reached and kept
Were not attained by sudden flight,
But they, while their companions slept,
Were toiling upward in the night." --Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
”Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race." --Calvin Coolidge
”An invincible determination can accomplish almost anything and in this lies the great distinction between great men and little men.” --Thomas Fuller
”Knowing trees, I understand the meaning of patience. Knowing grass, I can appreciate persistence.” --Hal Borland
"The rewards for those who persevere far exceed the pain that must precede the victory.” --Ted W. Engstrom
”Persistence is to the character of man as carbon is to steel.” --Napoleon Hill
"Enter every activity without giving mental recognition to the possibility of defeat. Concentrate on your strengths, instead of your weaknesses... on your powers, instead of your problems." --Paul J. Meyer
"The majority of men meet with failure because of their lack of persistence in creating new plans to take the place of those which fail.” --Napoleon Hill
"Success is almost totally dependent upon drive and persistence. The extra energy required to make another effort or try another approach is the secret of winning.” --Dennis Waitley
”Morale is the state of mind. It is steadfastness and courage and hope. It is confidence and zeal and loyalty. It is elan, esprit de corps and determination.” --Gen. George C. Marshall
”We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.” --Jesse Ow

Leadership is not so much about technique and methods as it is about opening the heart. Leadership is about inspiration -- of oneself and of others. Great leadership is about human experiences, not processes. Leadership is not a formula or a program, it is a human activity that comes from the heart and considers the hearts of others. Hey, what happened to this thread? It was such a wonderful one. Here's a restart.
Something by Peter Drucker:
"People who don't take risks generally make about two big mistakes a year. People who do take risks generally make about two big mistakes a year." - Peter F. Drucker
"Effective leadership is not about making speeches or being liked; leadership is defined by results not attributes." - Peter F. Drucker
"There are an enormous number of managers who have retired on the job." - Peter F. Drucker
"Plans are only good intentions unless they immediately degenerate into hard work." - Peter F. Drucker
"So much of what we call management consists in making it difficult for people to work." - Peter F. Drucker
"A manager is responsible for the application and performance of knowledge." - Peter F. Drucker
"Efficiency is doing things right; effectiveness is doing the right things." - Peter F. Drucker
"Time is the scarcest resource and unless it is managed nothing else can be managed." - Peter F. Drucker
"Quality in a product or service is not what the supplier puts in. It is what the customer gets out and is willing to pay for. A product is not quality because it is hard to make and costs a lot of money, as manufacturers typically believe. This is incompetence. Customers pay only for what is of use to them and gives them value. Nothing else constitutes quality." - Peter F. Drucker
"Teamwork is neither 'good' nor 'desirable'. It is a fact. Wherever people work together or play together they do so as a team. Which team to use for what purpose is a crucial, difficult and risky decision that is even harder to unmake. Managements have yet to learn how to make it." - Peter F. Drucker
"There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all." - Peter F. Drucker

Inspirational
There was a poor woman who had a sick son. Once he fell very ill, and the mother watched anxiously by his bedside, ignoring her food and sleep. The poor mother saw Death enter her lovely cottage and snatch the child away. At once she rose and ran desperately after Death, who ran fast. The mother bravely chased. On the way, she met Night, which demanded all the lullabies she used to sing to show the way in which Death took her son. She sang in a mournful yet full of sweetness voice. She ran over the thorny road, bleeding to catch the snatcher. There was a lake that demanded her sparkling eyes to make its water glitter to help her pass over it. Giving her eyes, she ran completely exhausted and anguished. She met an old hag who demanded her lustrous hair. She gave the crowning glory of her womanhood. Shorn of her beauty, blinded, wounded, and exhausted, she challenged Death and possessed the child. "How did you manage to arrive here?" asked Death. "I could because I am a MOTHER!"
Note: The sickness is not the illness of the body but pollution of the mind, and Death is none other than bad character and moral values.
Thanks,
Bala

This is what Kabeer has said several times:
Quote:::::
"Kabeer has stated many times that it is better and more helpful to have an enemy that is eager to criticize you for your faults than have a friend who will cast a blind eye on them. The enemy takes delight in abusing you, and it is said in the Puranas that, as a consequence, he goes on diminishing and wiping off from your account the demerits you have to live out in misery. The faster and fouler his abuse, the sooner and better are your future prospects brightened. The enemy absorbs your sins and their effects.
Moreover, since you are always aware of the enemy and his tactics, you are alert not to give him any chance to point his finger of scorn at you. He is your censor, corrector, and conscience. Be thankful to him, who talks ill of you, for surely, he is doing you a very great service by examining your every act on the touchstone of morality, truth, and righteousness."
