Understanding Gratuity Calculation and Eligibility Criteria for Employees - CiteHR

Hi,Friends, I want to know the gratuity calculation and eligible time for getting gratuity. Please help me.

Gratuity Eligibility and Calculation

Minimum eligibility to get gratuity is 5 years. In the case of permanent employees, for the preceding 12 months, there should be a minimum attendance of:

- 190 days:
- For those who work in mines
- For those who work less than 6 days a week

- 240 days in other cases.

For gratuity calculation, the service will be rounded to full years. For this purpose, a fraction of more than 6 months will be rounded up to one year, and up to 6 months will be rounded down.

The formula to calculate gratuity is: service x salary x 15/26. The ceiling limit is Rs. 10,00,000.
