Dear all,
I'm doing my research on PCMM (People Capability Maturity Model) implementation in the Service industry, especially in the Education Sector. Kindly let me know if someone is interested in PCMM and please share your knowledge about PCMM implementation.
I have read a few papers regarding PCMM implementation in software companies. From that, I came to know that it is for knowledge-based industries. Can we apply this model to educational institutions?

I am engaged in a PCMM project currently, and the question about the applicability of the model to other organizations (rather than software and information ones) has been raised. I would like to know if you have any information regarding this issue. I would appreciate it if you could assist me.
Best regards.

The PCMM framework can be applied to any industry irrespective of the domain. It is a process model that focuses on People Practices.
With the advent of ISO, COPC, CMM/CMMi, and other Quality and Process improvement models, organizations faced a unique challenge. All these models focused on improvement concerning operational processes or technology. However, if we take a closer look at the operations of any business organization, the success of the business depends on three factors: 1. People, 2. Process, and 3. Technology to deliver its products and services.
The critical point to note above is People, as both Process and Technology are essentially tools used and driven by people. Unfortunately, there was no specific model that focused on People Practices. This is exactly where People CMM comes into the equation with its focus on the People Practices.
If you need more information/help on PCMM, please let me know; I can help.
Thanks,
