Dear all,
Could anyone explain whether an employee who is on a notice period is eligible for medical leave or casual leave as per their eligibility? Can the employer deny such an employee from availing those benefits, citing the notice period legally?
Thanks for your time and help.

Dear Sowri,
The employee is not entitled to any kind of leave during the notice period. All the remaining leaves cease from the start of the notice period. In case of an emergency where any medical leave is required, it is at the discretion of management to grant the leave. However, the management reserves the right to extend the notice period by the same number of days.
This is the general policy that is followed. Please review the policies that your organization has put in place.
Thank you.
