Dear ESI Corp is implementing IT in a big way in its organization. If all goes well, from September onwards, IT infrastructure in ESIC will be in stream. In such a scenario, every employer would get a user ID and a password. They can simply log in to the ESIC site and do the following...
1) Register their employees and get ESI card online. (No need to go to ESI Local office)
2) Maintain ESI payroll online (presently have to maintain Form & register physically)
3) Submit returns online
4) Also print filled up challans from your online account. (However, payment has to be made physically at the SBI counter for some time until the payment gateway is finalized)
5) Even dispensaries have to maintain a log of medicines given, diagnosis reports in respect of each patient (employee) who visits the dispensary.
Expect a sea change within a month or two.
