Dear Rajib,

Employees drawing a basic salary up to Rs 6500/- are required to contribute to the Provident Fund, while employees earning above Rs 6501/- have the option to become a member of the Provident Fund.

Could you please confirm his exact salary?

Do not ask anything to anyone, just go to the official website of EPF. But yes, if you think you want more details or it's difficult to understand, we are all with you, dear. But you must visit the website to get the full details and the rules.
