Thank you for your information on Sick Leave for various states. I would like to know whether Sick Leave will lapse after 2 years, i.e., if someone had not availed Sick leave for 2 years, he would have accumulated 24 days of sick leave. In the third year, will he have a sick leave balance of 24 or 1, please?

It's usually as per the company's internal policy and management discretion. For example, some companies have a policy where one can accumulate sick leave for 3 years, and then it lapses, or they offer encashment for a part or only 50%, etc. It varies from company to company. If your company does not have the policy, please implement it immediately.
Sick leave is a cost and will affect the company's benefit budget. For guidance, one may refer to the State Government or Central Government Employee Benefit plans for sick leave and its encashment. They are usually the best guidelines to start with.

Sick leave and earned leaves can be accumulated year on year based on management decisions. Some companies allow employees to encash leaves if they are not able to accumulate them for the next year. However, most companies, considering employee interest, allow leaves to be accumulated year on year.
