To All Site HR Members,

Fraudulent job offers are very active now! Their job is very easy during this recession and salary-cutting scenarios.

See some of the job offers I received that look very genuine. If any of you have received any offer in the same manner, please be very careful before any type of money transfer! NEVER TRANSFER ANY AMOUNT FOR VISA REQUIREMENTS!

From A to Z, it is a well-set-up racket. The fact is... almost all such fraud offers, even if showing from Ghana, Australia, Fujairah, Ajman, Spain, London, or anywhere in the world, they come from the same server!

See a sample offer I received. And see the attachment.

FOR THE READERS' INFORMATION:

There is NO Ajman Petroleum Company in the UAE. Ajman is the only Emirate in the UAE without oil production, making it the last Emirate in development.

There is petroleum in Fujairah, but it is operated by Abu Dhabi (ADNOC).

All the above-mentioned websites are fake! All the telephone numbers are fake. Emails belong to domains such as Google, MSN, etc.

Hi,

I trust you, but they are fraud.

I want to share an incident that happened with me the day before yesterday. I received a call from a number with the STD code starting with 0092, which I believe is Pakistan's STD code. A man called and informed me that my name had been randomly selected for a lottery prize of 25 lacs from Vodafone company. He explained that several other people had also been selected and won the lottery. He then provided me with a phone number, instructing me to call a person named Mr. Prem. Mr. Prem would explain the procedures to claim the lottery prize.

When I called Mr. Prem, he mentioned that my number had been selected by Vodafone for a 25-lakh lottery prize. He asked how I wanted to receive the money, whether through a direct transfer to my account after providing my home address or account number, or by sending someone to my home in the evening to verify my ID and provide a code and serial number. He mentioned a fee of Rs. 10k that I would need to pay to receive the 25 lacs.

I decided to disconnect the call. I consulted a friend about the situation, and he warned me that since I had not filled out any forms or participated in any contests, it was highly unlikely that I had legitimately won a large sum of money. It seemed like a complete fraud. Therefore, I chose not to contact them further. Later on, the same person called me again, questioning why I had disconnected the call previously, and urged me to call Mr. Prem once more. I firmly declined, stating that I was not interested in their prize, and requested them not to contact me again on that number. Since then, I have not received any more calls.

Thank goodness.

Oh... My God!!!!!

Very useful information. Mammu, I really appreciate you for this information. What is happening around us???

Ms. Anjana, the same trick was performed here in the UAE as well, in the name of Etisalat (the major telephone department). They were asking for all the account details. Once we gave the account details, your account would be at zero balance within one hour!!!!

There were a lot of complaints. But I don't know how they did it!

Mammu, I want to know more about that offer from Scotland hospital.

Hi Mammu,

Great info I got from the UK a couple of times. I checked with my relatives there and ignored the mails that came up later on.

From my experience, I am yet to receive any jobs based on my postings in Naukri, Jobs Ahead, Monster, or any of the job sites. Most of the offers are from word-of-mouth references or from known sources.

See attached job offer from "TOTAL PETROLEUM". I am sure 'TOTAL' has nothing to do with this kind of fraud. Please note that all offer comes in the same format, even the file name

Fraudulent Job Offer in the Name of LG Electronics

Fraudulent job offers are very active now, especially during this recession and salary-cutting scenarios.

I recently received a job offer that appeared very genuine. If any of you have received a similar offer, please exercise caution before making any money transfers.

Never transfer any amount for any reason, whether it's for your visa requirement or background check.

Please find below the email and its attachment. Though the email may seem genuine, one must consider the following aspects to verify its authenticity:

1. The email was sent from a Gmail account, not a company-specific email address. Typically, legitimate job offers from companies are sent from company email addresses, such as , not or , etc.

2. No legitimate company asks for money before the selection process. This practice is illegal and fraudulent. Remember, for background checks, the employer pays the agency, not the employee or the new joiner.

3. Check for grammar and spelling errors in the email. Legitimate companies often use templates for offer emails instead of typing them out.

Regards,

Avik Roy
