Hi all,

I want to know how to make a salary slip and the breakdown of a salary, specifically the structure of a salary (basic, HRA, DA, allowance, ESI, PF). What should be the breakdown percentage? As per my understanding, 40% of a salary should be HRA, and I believe an allowance of around 800 or 900 should be suitable for a 9-12K package. But what should be the breakdown for a higher package?

Can anyone help me with this? It's very urgent and important for me. Please assist.

Thanks,
Rajesh J

Hi Rajesh, I am also an HR Executive and, according to my experience, the salary structure depends on CTC as well. The breakdown typically includes: HRA - 40% of salary, DA, Allowance - Depend on the company (usually around 10%), ESI - deducted for those individuals whose salary is below Rs. 10,000, PF - individuals usually opt to deduct a minimum of Rs. 6,500, but if they wish to deduct more than this amount, they need to fill out a form and specify the desired amount.

Hi Kaushik and Sanjay,

Thank you for the information provided. I have one more question regarding PF and ESI deductions. What should be the employer and employee percentages in terms of deductions? For a package ranging from 7-10K, what would be the contribution from both sides?

Thank you,
Rajesh
