We have been using the muster roll registers to track the attendance in our company. Now we would like to replace the manual system by linking the attendance with access card swiping.
My question is, is it mandatory to inform the labour authorities before doing away with the manual registers? If so, please let me know the necessary procedures to comply with.

Dear,
If you want to maintain all records electronically, then in the case of a factory, you are required to take permission from the Director of Factories. If you are covered under the Shop and Establishment Act, then the Deputy Labour Commissioner will give you permission.
Thank you.
