I want to serve as a contractor in the manufacturing industry. Can you please guide me on what legal documents are required for a contractor, such as a labor license, registration of a PF account, etc.? I would like to know these requirements specifically for the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Dear Murali,
If you are going to provide more than 20 workers:
1) You should get registered under CLRA, 1970,
2) You should get registered for P.F, E.S.I.C, and P.Tax,
3) If the bill volume exceeds 1 lac per month, you should register yourself under the Service Tax Act (there is a separate cell in Ayakaar Bhawan),
4) Apply for a PAN Card.
