Hi all,

I need some information on Gratuity. I resigned from an international BPO after working for 5.5 years.

1. Am I eligible for gratuity, and if yes, what is the amount I am entitled to?
2. I do not remember filling out any form for claiming it, so will the company pay the gratuity amount itself?
3. What is the procedure for either claiming or receiving this amount?
4. How does a company pay it to its ex-employees?

Please help me with my queries.

Thanks in advance.

Dear,

Most companies pay gratuity at the time of your full and final settlement. You are eligible to receive gratuity, but I do not understand why the company has not paid. You should go and talk to them. Legally, it should be paid after one month by filling a form, but all companies pay at the time of full and final settlement.

You will receive 15 days' salary for every year of service.

The procedure for calculating gratuity is as follows:
Basic salary * 15 * number of years of service / 26

Thank you.
