Dear Seniors,

Let me introduce myself. I have finished my MBA (HR) and have 2+ years of experience in IT recruitment (domestic, not US requirements).

1. I have just come to the US (Massachusetts) on a dependent visa. Can you all suggest to me how to apply for an H1B visa for management jobs? Also, please let me know the possibilities of opportunities if I change from recruitment to another role.

2. Who will sponsor an H1B visa for management jobs?

3. Can you list any consultancy names so that I can get in touch with them and understand the process exactly?

4. Is the H1B visa only for software, or can people from other fields like hotel management apply for an H1B visa?

5. Lastly, without an H1B visa, am I unable to do any part-time jobs or pursue any Masters programs?

The most important thing in my life is not to waste my valuable time. For this, I need your guidance and valuable suggestions to move in the right direction.

Thanks and Regards,
Deep's

I am in a similar dilemma. I happen to be an MBA (IT) from SP Jain with about 5 years of work experience. My last role was as a project manager at Bosch in Bangalore. Currently, I am in California on a dependent visa and am looking for an opening, but it seems in vain.

Hi Deeps,

Hope this may help you,

1. I've just come to the US (Massachusetts) on a dependent visa. Can you all suggest to me how to apply for an H1B - specifically for management jobs, and also inform me about the possibilities of opportunities if I change from recruitment to another role?

You can apply for an H1B visa for management jobs. Try to contact some consulting companies interested in sponsoring a visa for you. You can also explore roles like Business Analyst or Project Coordinator, or consider training in other technical areas.

2. Who will sponsor an H1B for management jobs?

Of course, an employer, typically a company (Inc/LLC).

3. Can you list any consultancy names so that I can get in touch with them and understand the process better?

It's challenging because there are thousands of companies in the market. You can search online or contact me directly.

4. Is the H1B visa only for software or can people in other fields such as hotel management apply for it?

H1B is not limited to software; individuals in fields like agriculture or hotel management can also apply. H1B is designed for specialty occupations.

5. Finally, can I not do any part-time jobs or pursue a Master's degree without an H1B?

You can pursue a Master's degree, but to work in the US, you need a valid visa, OPT, or permanent residency. Working without authorization is illegal.

Hope this information helps you.

Hi deephr, since you posted the thread quite some time back and I am currently facing a similar situation, I wanted to know if you found any solutions or a way out for working in the US on an H4 visa. If yes, please share your experience. Thanks.
