Dear Simahan,

I am an MBA in HR from University of Calcutta and having almost around 6 years of experience in the field of HR & Admin. Presently I have joined into Realty Sector as Head HR. I have a career plan that after a year or two I will permanently shift into academics and want to give my career a fresh start as a management faculty. To achieve that I have planned that I will start teaching as Part Time faculty to develop my acquaintance in this area.

However I have a small question to you as you know this field closely. I had scored 59.5% in MBA and so have a doubt that will it be a bit difficult for me to pursue a career in academics as I just fell short of scoring first class (60%) in MBA?

Because I have seen from the recent advertisements that Management colleges are setting the recruitment criteria as per AICTE rules which has been recently amended and they are asking for first class MBA's for the post of Lecturer. Can you please help me in this by suggesting how should I proceed to achieve my career goal.

Dear DG,
I am not based in India, but in the UK. Hence, I am not conversant with the rules. However, to me, 59.5% is as good as 60. I am sure some college will be willing to take you on as a part-time faculty. I would also advise you to try and enroll for part-time MPhil. If you can't, see if you can conduct some research in your area and publish papers.

Am a lecturer in University college, in MBA dept. from my experience wat i feel for u is dont ever try to do MPhill. course becz there is no value for it and its already outdated right now, and u dont try for any Hr or Fin based subjects it will b difficult for u.
I have a best option for u, as u r from science background u hav better opportunities in MBA colleges like VTU & University based colleges for the subjects "Management Information System, E-Commerece and Web designing".
Try to concentrate on these areas it will take u to the great heights.
To have a better life in long run, try to concentrate for PhD and NET or SLET Exams.

Hello,
To get passed in NET or SLET Exams u shud b versitile, its just not enough to go through the books it doesnt help u much, only it can facilitate u, but understanding the concepts in practical sense is of atmost important for u to get into NET or SLET. U ll need to read all ur MBA books if u r taking the exams as a MBA qualified or else if u wish to take the subjests related to MIS & E-com & Web designing u shud b thorough in subjects related to computers.

But NET subject option should be related to post graduate degree subject. How can i take option as MIS or computer related subjects. If i am not wrong i am eligible for HR or Management subject

yaar... have u ever tried to gather knowldge?? or all these things are merely your day dreaming?? u will have to choose ONE subject in your NET exam....
so try to gather all the relevent info. first... or visit d ugc site.... no need for so long discussion....

I know it is ONE subject. But that ONE subject should be related to the post graduate degree. This is the only thing i was telling. As i am MBA in hr, i have to chose Hr subject only, instead of MIS, e-commerce or web designing which are related to my graduate degree i.e. b.sc.it

Dear Seniors
I have done PGDM-HRM from AIMA-AICTE approved course. I am Pursuing MA-economics II year. Am i eligible for NET exam in management subject ie HR or eligible for only economics?
